Let's see.... last week we left off on Sunday evening, enjoying deep rest after a fun day of island adventuring.
Monday, March 24th
Sleep in, or come and practice on your mat (sound familiar)?
We have some free space built into this day. For the morning, Upachaya has kayaks and snorkel gear, or you can explore a guided Stand Up Paddleboard session with Steve. Upachaya also has a dive shop on site, in case you would like to try scuba (more on this later). We will offer an ocean meditation, a guided experience of folding the fields of oneself into the womb-like embrace of floating and easing into a state of clarified mind with the sounds of water washing your thoughts clear. You might go for a walk, chill by the pool, or simply relax in your room - reading, resting or journaling. You will also have the opportunity for an add-on excursion to explore an interactive dolphin encounter at Anthony's Key Resort, where you can get into the water with dolphins.

After lunch & siesta, we will take a meditative wander through the Carambola Gardens. This sweet walk through shaded Roatan Jungle is a beautiful exhibit of local flora, labeled and described with a map to accompany your exploration. You will learn about the traditional medicinal uses of the local flora, see some incredible flowers, and be wowed by some majestic trees such as mahogany, teak and ceiba. There is an option for a steep hike up to a lookout for amazing views of the reef.
A special treat awaits us this afternoon: a lovely sunset pontoon cruise, embarking right off the dock of the resort. We will experience the stunning Roatan sunset on the water, out past the reef and floating in the gentle Caribbean waters. Sunset cruises are a must for a Caribbean visit. We might even incorporate our yoga practice bathed in the brilliant setting sun's rays.

Dinner is in-house at Upachaya, so we come straight back to the resort for our tasty meal.
After dinner, you might join our flash fiction writing practice, grab someone and play any assortment of games available, hang around for tea and chatting, or cuddle up in your room with a good book.
Tuesday, March 25th
Sleep in, or come and practice on your mat :) For today's practice, Susi Stern will come and offer Body Sculpt. Susi is an Austrian who has lived on Roatan for nearly 20 years! After Body Sculpt, you can sign up for an onsite massage with Susi or choose your own recreational activity.

After lunch & siesta, we will take a field trip to a local school. Miriam started a school in Roatan in 2001, which has since split into two schools. We will stop in and visit, and spend a little time there.
Our afternoon will culminate in a visit to Jennifer and Steve's beautiful home, for a sunset on the deck, relaxing in their infinity pool and enjoying tapas there. Jennifer is the Marine Biologist at RIMS, Roatan Institute for Marine Sciences, and has been on the island for 26 years. Jennifer is the Education and Research Coordinator, managing higher ed trips to the island, where she educates about coral reef health. Joining us will be Jenny Myton, a native Honduran environmental engineer with a master's degree in sustainable development who is the Conservation Program Director for CORAL and Nic Bach, Patrols and Marine Infrastructure Coordinator of the Roatan Marine Park. These three have been working in tandem for an accumulated 60+ years to preserve and protect the coral reefs of Honduras. They will share some stories and insights of their work over the years on the island, and how they have brought awareness to the forefront for protecting this important ecosystem.

Wednesday, March 26th
Join us for mat practice or have a lie in.
Breakfast will be followed by a choice of workshop options. A guided meditation practice, a workshop on asana, or a yoga philosophy workshop - your choice! You can also choose your own activity.
After another delicious lunch prepared by our chef Supy, Steve will pick us up and take us to the famous West Bay Beach. Here, you can wander up and down a stunning white sand beach with multiple opportunities to: sun bathe, swim, snorkel, SUP, shop or snack. We will spend the afternoon and sunset here and enjoy a dinner together at one of the island's premier restaurants: The Argentinian Grill.

Thursday, March 27th - our last full day!
After morning practice and our last scrumptious breakfast, you have a free morning to do any of the activities on offer or simply relax. Are you interested in scuba? At any point in the trip, the dive shop at Upachaya can introduce you to the world of scuba with a two-hour Discover Scuba Diving course. If you had chosen to do this on a previous morning, you might join the dive shop for a dive or two in any given morning, including today!
Just after lunch, Steve will once again pick us up and deliver us back to West End Village. We visited here the first night. We will take a little walk over to Miriam's friend Karl Stanley's place, and see his homemade yellow submarine! Karl will share all about the building of his sub, what he has discovered, and how he recently testified in the trial for the submarine that collapsed going down to the Titanic!!! You have the rest of the afternoon to wander here. You might shop in the multiple gift shops, visit the Roatan Marine Park office, get some ice cream, swim, snorkel, or just relax on the beach!

Our last dinner is your restaurant of choice in West End - a panoply of international options to choose from. We can enjoy live music, go dancing, chat at a local watering hole, or go home!
Friday, March 28th - off to the airport.
Having rested, adventured, connected, practiced, and retreated, now it is time to return home, already dreaming about reuniting next year........
